One sheet per model. Each gives the formula that vendor publishes, whether the model takes a negative prompt at all, what the vendor explicitly tells you not to do, and a checklist to run before you send.
- Fourteen models across image, video, text and audio.
- Eight of them have no negative prompt field — and on Runway the vendor documents that negative phrasing can produce the opposite. Higgsfield and xAI do not document one either way.
- No two vendors publish the same formula. Google opens with the camera, ByteDance's Seedance with format, OpenAI with the scene, and Runway with the one essential motion.
- Each sheet is labelled by sourcing strength. Twelve quote the vendor's own documentation throughout; Higgsfield and Suno are partly documented and say which lines are practice.
- Every sheet was re-checked against its sources on 16 September 2026, and every quoted rule links to the page it came from.
Which models take a negative prompt
The single most useful thing across all fourteen sheets. Check yours before writing one.
NO FIELD does not always mean no exclusions. OpenAI and ByteDance put them inside the prompt; Black Forest Labs and Runway want every exclusion rewritten as something present. Check the sheet before you write one.

Each sheet is written from the vendor's own published documentation, and each quoted rule links to the page it came from. Higgsfield and Suno publish no single prompting manual, so their sheets are labelled partly documented and mark which lines are the vendor's and which are practice.
Every sheet was re-checked against its sources on 16 September 2026. What changed was corrected in place. Model versions and vendor documentation both move; the negative-prompt table is the part most likely to change first.
