Every page on this site is a world in a galaxy you can fly through. The game opens full screen on a page of its own; what follows is what the controls do, the same index in plain text, and what gets stored.

FULL SCREEN · 3D Fly the galaxy → The whole site as worlds you pilot a ship between. Opens on its own page with nothing else on it — no header, no text, just the view.

The controls

The ship follows the mouse. Move the pointer and the nose turns toward it and the hull banks into the turn. It answers for about a third of a second after you stop moving, then holds its heading — which is the whole trick: a cursor parked off to one side cannot fly the craft in a slow circle, but the smallest movement steers immediately. Hold the button down to pin a long turn, or press MOUSE LOOK to capture the pointer.STEER
It is a throttle, not a step forward. W and S set the power and the craft holds it, always travelling along its own nose. AD bank and turn, put the nose up and down, QE roll, space brakes, shift boosts. X levels out and stops dead where you are, and R flies you back to the starting position — the two ways out of being lost.THROTTLE
It turns worse the faster it goes. Deliberate, and it is how flight games have felt since Elite: a fast pass should be committed rather than a pirouette. Slow down to line up on something small.HANDLING
Aim and open — the crosshair names whatever it is pointing at and says whether you have read it. enter opens that page; a click pins its dossier instead.ENTER
Search and warp — press /, type part of a title, press enter. You fly straight to it. Faster than finding one dot among 159 by eye.SLASH
Guided tour — a route built from the link graph itself: the core, the anchor of each arm, then the rim. Every number in it is computed from the data, not written by hand.TOUR
It is a system, not a diagram. There is a sun at the core, and every world is lit from it — fly past one and its far side goes dark in the direction it should. Each turns on its own axis at its own rate, the seven most-linked pages carry rings, and the eighteen biggest carry moons. Nothing orbits the core: a page’s position is its data and must not drift.SYSTEM
Every page is a real sphere. Not a circle turned to face you — actual geometry, lit from one fixed direction, turning slowly, tested against a depth buffer so a near world hides the ones behind it. The seven most-linked pages carry rings. A camera-facing sprite gives itself away the moment you pass one closely.3D
Radar — bottom right, the disc seen from above with your position and heading. Being lost in a featureless starfield is the fastest way to close a tab.MAP
WHY THE STARS ARE DIM

A star stays dull grey until you have opened that page, then it takes its section's colour. The counter in the bottom left is how much of the site you have actually read — and it counts pages you read anywhere on the site, not only ones you clicked from here.

That is the reason to come back. Most people leave a site having read three pages. This turns the rest into something you can see, and finish.

Every page, as a list

The same galaxy as plain HTML, grouped by section and ordered by how much of the site links to each page. Clicking a title here flies the deck to that star. It is generated from the identical data the deck draws, so the two cannot disagree.

What is stored, and where

One list of page addresses, in this browser, on your own machine. It records which pages of this site you have opened. It is never transmitted — there is no endpoint to send it to — and nothing else reads it. FORGET MY PROGRESS deletes it. A different browser, or a private window, starts from zero, because that is all local storage can honestly promise.

This page is heavier than the rest of the site and does not pretend otherwise: it loads a renderer and the whole link graph before it can draw anything. It does not run below 760 px, where a flight sim on a touchscreen would be a worse version of the list. It respects reduced-motion — warping and the tour arrive at each stop instead of flying to it. And if WebGL is missing, the page is still complete, because the index above is the page and the galaxy is only drawn on top of it.
